Event Networks

Privacy policy

The short version: we collect what we need to answer your enquiry and run the site, and we never sell your information.

Event Networks (ABN 32 385 519 280) runs this site. This page explains what we collect, why, and what we do with it. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988.

What we collect

  • When you send an enquiry. The name, email, optional phone number and message you type into the form on the contact page, plus the technical details that come with any form submission: your IP address, browser type and the page you came from.
  • When you visit the site. Analytics through Google Analytics 4: the pages you view, rough location, device and browser type, and what you click, such as a phone number or the form. Our content network (Cloudflare) records basic visit statistics, and our host keeps server logs for security.

How we use it

  • To reply to your enquiry and quote for your event.
  • To see which pages are useful and fix the ones that are not.
  • To keep the site working and block spam and abuse.

We do not use your details for unrelated marketing, we do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not sell or rent them to anyone.

Who we share it with

Only the services we use to run the site, and only as far as they need it:

  • The servers that host the site, and Cloudflare, which delivers it and records basic visit statistics.
  • Google Analytics, which gives us aggregate figures on how people use the site.
  • Akismet, which checks each enquiry for spam before it reaches us.
  • Twilio, our email delivery service, which carries your enquiry to our inbox.

Some of these services store or process data outside Australia, including in the United States. Where we disclose information overseas, we take reasonable steps to make sure it is handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles. We may also disclose information where the law requires it. Otherwise it stays with us.

Cookies and analytics

Google Analytics sets cookies to measure how people use the site. You can refuse cookies in your browser, or use the Google Analytics opt out. The site works either way.

Keeping your information

We keep enquiries only as long as we need them for the purposes above, or as long as the law requires. After that we take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify them. We take reasonable steps to protect what we hold.

Your choices

You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Use the details below and we will sort it out. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, tell us first. If we cannot resolve it, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
